Miriam has 20 years’ experience practising in employee relations and industrial relations law. Her advice and representation is practical, commercial and outcome-focused. She believes that early intervention into employee grievances or disputes often prevents matters escalating into litigious claims. When matters become litigious, Miriam is an experienced advocate for organisations across diverse industry sectors in federal and state courts and tribunals.

A timely, thorough and focused workplace inquiry process is one of the most significant strategies an organisation may implement to manage legal and commercial risks associated with misconduct or underperformance. Miriam is a nationally recognised workplace investigator, understanding the critical importance of fair process and reliable findings. She guides organisations to conduct their internal inquiry processes as well as conducting external investigations.

Miriam develops relationships of mutual trust and respect with her clients, enjoying ‘getting into’ organisations and their cultures to achieve a true business partnership. She particularly enjoys providing “hotline” services to human resources specialists to assist them in practical day-to-day management of their workforces.

Miriam is an experienced presenter and works with her clients to develop innovative workplace training packages for induction or refresher sessions, tailored to reference her clients’ own policies and industries.
