Sophie Baartz

Senior Associate

Sophie is an experienced industrial relations and employment lawyer who provides practical and timely advice for her clients. She is personable and listens carefully to her clients to understand their business. Equally as important as the technical legal answer, she places her client’s business objectives, reputational considerations and commercial realities front of mind.

Sophie has significant and varied experience in workplace law, having started her career as an Associate in the Fair Work Commission, before commencing private practice. She has undertaken a secondment at a global company in the highly industrialised maritime industry where she developed a nuanced understanding of her clients’ in-house environment.

Sophie represents clients in collective and individual matters and regularly appears in Federal and State courts and tribunals.
