Kat is an employment and industrial relations lawyer with experience partnering with businesses to provide strategic advice across the full spectrum of the employment relationship, including day-to-day matters and more complex employment and industrial relations matters.

Kat has experience providing advice about employee entitlements, including in the context of payroll compliance reviews, advising on interpretation of enterprise agreements and modern awards, assisting with the enterprise bargaining process, conducting workplace investigations, preparing employment contracts and policies and defending all types of employment related claims, including unfair dismissal claims, general protections claims, discrimination complaints, underpayment claims and disputes.

Kat has experience working with small to large businesses and charitable organisations, across a range of industries, including maritime, aviation, labour-hire, aged care, construction, hospitality, mining, healthcare, childcare, veterinary care, education, and retail, and has previously worked in-house in the employment relations team of large employers in the private sector. Kat also regularly advises international businesses in respect of managing their employees based in Australia.

This experience has given Kat the skills to provide practical and timely advice that aligns with her client’s commercial objectives and is considerate of both their legal and business requirements.
