Erica has been litigating and advising for nearly 20 years and practices in civil and criminal law in a variety of superior and statutory courts and tribunals and in investigations and hearings conducted by professional disciplinary bodies.
Erica’s inquisitorial practice includes acting and advising in inquests and inquiries and her criminal law practice includes advising and acting in relation to criminal offences under mainstream crime laws and regulatory prosecutions and investigations in relation to compliance with workplace health and safety, rail, maritime, offshore oil and gas, mining, heavy vehicle, environmental, electrical safety, aviation and fraud laws.
Erica’s civil practice includes the defence of consumer protection, contract and torts claims, including those brought by way of class action.
She is also highly experienced in the conduct of judicial review applications and applications for the review of administrative decision-making, including in relation to executive decisions regarding the licensing of persons who are not deemed fit and proper to hold those instruments.
Erica also advises and appears in respect of disciplinary action taken by professional bodies, such as medical and aged care regulatory agencies, has partially completed a PhD on the intersection between constructive trusts and metaphysics and her jurisprudential work has been published internationally.
