Joshua Handley - Knowledge Counsel

Joshua Handley

Knowledge Counsel

Joshua has more than a decade of experience in workplace law, advising public and private sector clients on a broad range of complex employment and industrial relations matters. His experience includes unfair dismissal and general protections claims, enterprise bargaining, award interpretation, payroll compliance, discrimination complaints, and the defence of work health and safety prosecutions. He has also appeared as a solicitor advocate before state and federal tribunals.

Before joining Kingston Reid, Joshua led the workplace relations function at a major university, practised for many years as a senior lawyer in private practice, and served as an Associate to the Fair Work Commission. This diverse background has given him a unique perspective on workplace law, having advised clients in private practice, supported decision-makers from the bench, and developed and implemented strategy as an in-house leader.

Joshua is passionate about workplace law and is drawn to the human and commercial dimensions that underpin every matter. He understands that effective solutions must not only be legally sound but also practical and aligned with an organisation's broader objectives. As Knowledge Counsel, Joshua supports the firm's lawyers on complex and emerging legal issues, mentors junior practitioners, and helps ensure the firm remains at the forefront of developments in employment, industrial relations, and work health and safety law.
