Daniel is known for providing succinct, clear and pragmatic advice on all contentious and non-contentious work health and safety and crisis management matters. Clients seek out Daniel’s translation of complex workplace health and safety law into clear operational priorities and guided outcomes. His legal knowledge combined with many years of operational experience in executive health safety and environment roles provides clients with an end-to-end approach which ensures all material risks are well managed.
With over 25 years of experience, Daniel’s expertise combines both front-end work health and safety system governance, design, implementation, and review, along with back-end company prosecution defence work across all Australian jurisdictions. Daniel approaches all investigations from both an operational and an analytical perspective with the ability to quickly identify all relevant connective threads that come together to identify both immediate, progressive, and systemic organisation wide issues. This programmed and planned approach enables Daniel to manage regulators and inspector investigations, including fatalities, coronial inquests, improvement and provisional improvement notices and all company prosecution defence work.
Daniel’s clients include some of Australia’s leading energy and resources companies and he has a strong background providing advice to heavy industry including energy and mining, port, rail, utilities, and construction.
He is an experienced coach and lead facilitator of ICAMS with further Australasian Interservice Incident Management system (AIIMS) experience. Daniel is also FEMA incident command system (ICS) qualified.
